He began playing in his father’s dance band at the age of 13. He developed a passion for American blues and learned the rudiments of the art form. In his early 20s he moved to Melbourne and joined with legendary local bluesman ‘Dutch’ Tilders. After several years with Dutch he departed to focus on his own music and embarked on an international campaign.
His first stop was the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA where he won the ‘Albert King Award’ and was offered an endorsement deal with Gibson Guitars. Not a bad start!
Geoff’s tri-continental touring schedule includes Australia, Europe and the USA
He re-located to the USA for a time and he spent many months on the road performing countless live shows and recording his One Ticket, One Ride album there. In 2008 a Guitar Player magazine reader’s poll listed Geoff as one of the Top 10 ‘Hot New Guitarists’ on the US scene. He adores jamming with other musicians and has developed close musical relationships with many other artists including Georgia based songwriter/musician Randall Bramblett with whom he shares a ‘live’ album release, Jammin’ In The Attic.
His annual Boxing Day Blues concert with Australian bluesman Chris Wilson has also resulted in a shared album release titled Box Of Blues. The passion for jamming has paid off on a personal level too with Geoff being invited onstage at various times with musical heroes such as Hubert Sumlin, Delbert McClinton, Jorma Kaukonen, legendary bassist George Porter JR, the Allman Brothers Band and even the great Les Paul.
Besides recording and performing music Geoff also enjoys teaching. He presents guitar workshops on request and is a regular guest instructor at Jorma Kaukonen’s famous Fur Peace Ranch guitar camp in Ohio.
In recent times his album releases Box Of Blues (with Chris Wilson), the acoustic Live at Burrinja Café and the electric Live at Guitars Across The Bay scooped the pool at both the 2012 & 2013 ‘VicTas’ blues awards.
Meanwhile, his Little Big Men album has been re-issued in the US & Europe to renewed critical acclaim. Also in 2012 Geoff was named as one of the Top 50 Australian Guitarists in Australian Guitar magazine.
Geoff’s awards include trophies from organisations like the Australian Songwriters Association; ‘Chain’ Blues Awards and the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society. (Geoff was named their official ‘Patron’ in 2011)

Ross WardRoss Ward's music covers influences from the blues, rock, jazz, funk, soul and even some Latin/World music, occasionally borrowing a bit of it all.
“Left to my own devices, my own songs and style comes from all the music I hear and refer to as ‘Organic’. It’s played by real people, and it’s coming straight from the heart. Typically, my stuff will cover influences from the blues, rock, jazz, funk, soul and even some Latin/World music, occasionally borrowing a bit of it all, sometimes wandering down each alley for a closer experience, but it’s all done with respect, honesty, and in a continual pursuit of excellence for the music and its performance.” – Ross Ward, Aug-2015.

James is a young man of 24 who has grown up on the coast of NSW playing guitar, hanging out with friends, listening to Bob Dylan and surfing (there may have been some schooling in there too).
His music is best described as Rootsy/folk with influences such as Bob Dylan, John Butler, Paul Kelly and Xavier Rudd. Although James has a repertoire of cool covers, his real strength and appeal is in his original songs. The last few years have seen James’ songwriting develop to a point where he has a solid few sets of his own material and an engaging stage presence, he has just released his first single, “Colourful kites” to follow his 2 EP’s and is getting great feedback from within the industry and the public alike. James has no shortage of well crafted and likeable songs. Recent supports with Jeff Lang, The Black sorrows, Ian Moss and Wendy Matthews and sets at the Wingham Akoostic Festival Wildwood Festival and Festival of the sun in Port Macquarie, things are definitely looking bright.
JHD Revival Band
JHD Revival BandThe JHD Revival Band has become an unstoppable nine-piece soul-blues machine.
The JHD Revival Band is the fruit of evolution. Over the latter half of 2011, the band grew out of guitarist John Hardaker’s jazz group, The John Hardaker Direction – hence the ‘JHD’ in the band’s name. The band’s blues-based sound came at a significant time and revitalised his energy for music – hence the ‘Revival’.
The catalyst was the amazing vocal of Em Benson. John felt he just had to build a band around that voice – a big, bad blues band, and – calling on the finest players he knew, that is what he built. With the addition of The One Truth Horns, the Band has become an unstoppable nine-piece soul-blues machine.
in the spirit of ’70s bands such as The Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers and current jam-bands such as The Derek Trucks Band, The JHD Revival Band is going for a universal sound, drawing on soul, funk, jazz, rock and latin music. But the heart of the Band is, and always will be The Blues.
Over the last year or so The JHD Revival Band have been invited by Tony Cini of Blues Explosion fame to play on his shows at the Vanguard and Beaches as well at the Hi-Fi supporting Phil Emmanuel. Airplay on 2JJJs Root’N’All and across Sydney community radio shows the word on The Revival is spreading.
Welcome to the Revival.

16 years old, from Sydney, and with my dad being a bass player in a blue grass band I have been brought up around music! I was spontaneously asked to play at Blue’s Fest last year and somehow the rumour spread that I was caught busking and was asked to fill in, but now I’m back, thankfully with more notice this time! I play indie/roots music and do numerous cover songs, this is the first time I will be playing some of my original songs.
Jack MillarA live show that sways frantically from raw, powerful intensity to moments of intimate, vulnerable fragility and anywhere in between.
Growing up by the Hawkesbury River, Jack Millar locked himself in his room for most of his teenage years after discovering the guitar and rock/roots music. In between gigs and school, Jack spent hours sinking his teeth into anything from Nirvana to Wes Montgomery, from the White Stripes to Django Rheinhardt as he tried to replicate those sounds on guitar while gaining a love for improvisation and creating his own music. Now at the age of 20 he has evolved as a solo artist with a live show that sways frantically from raw, powerful intensity to moments of intimate, vulnerable fragility and anywhere in between.

Seeing Christian perform his material will open your mind to the versatility of the harmonica. It is an amazing experience to hear this supposedly simple instrument produce the sort of complex music that would normally be expected from a skillfully wielded saxophone or trumpet.
Colleen FrickerWith two albums under her belt and a slew of impressive support slots this singer songwriter is generating a big name for herself in the Sydney music scene.
Colleen Fricker is the Sydney Blues and Roots Festival’s local secret, and the only artist to have made a place on the line up every year since its beginning.
With comparisons to Melissa Etheridge, Janis Joplin and Robert Plant it should come as no surprise that Colleen’s vocals are big, loud and emotionally raw. Couple that with addictive roots dance riffs under which runs a driving, foot stomping beat and you’ve got the perfect catchy combination of blues and roots.

Voted Instrumentalist of 2008 by the Canberra Blues Society, Chris Harland strides onto the Oz blues scene. The grand Brit tradition of Clapton, Beck, Page and Green, cocked and ready over one shoulder, deadly as a pearl-handled Strat. Chris Harland digs the Blues from deep in the Chicago mother-lode: taut, electric, urgent.
